"Could Not Find Sample" Error (PLAY)

Article applies to:
  • Sibelius 5, 6, 7
  • PLAY v1.2.5+
  • EWQLSO Sound Set
  • Ministry of Rock Sound Set

Description

This error message indicates PLAY was unable to find the sample files at the location indicated in the multi files. Generally this is because the saved location reflects our library installation and folder structure rather than the folder structure on your system.

For EWQLSO sound set users running PLAY 1.2.5 - 2.x the error message may indicate a different version of the library (Silver/Gold/Platinum) than they are running. This is inconsequential.

Solution

Verify that you are loading the correct Sibelius Multis for the version of PLAY you are using and when prompted select "OK" or "Find Sample".

In the dialog that comes up, locate and select the root folder of the EWQLSO or Ministry of Rock library on your system and click "OK".

The default library folder name for EWQLSO is "EWQL Orchestra Library" and for Ministry of Rock is "MOR Library".

When the correct folder is selected PLAY will begin resolving and loading the samples.

After loading is complete, use "Main Menu > Save" in PLAY to overwrite and save the multi files with the correct paths for your system.
